I found this idea on a great blog last week. I love bloggers that create different things, and blog about all sorts of stuff, not just their creations. The rest of it brings depth to the blog.
I went to a craft store on Saturday and found four t-shirts for $10. I got dark colors because I thought they would look nicer. At home I already had some bright colors from a previous shopping trip (for the same price).
I then on Tuesday saw the idea on TidyMom.net, and found that she saw it on TheDIYDish. By the way, TidyMom is one of my new favorite blogs. She is just amazing.
So after first seeing the idea on Michelle's blog I made a black one like hers.
Sorry about the pic quality. Anyway, hers looks so beautiful and mine looks so amatuer. Then I made the green one. I like this one so much better. But it's not done. Instead of a fabric flower, I want to make a barrette or something to keep them together. I think beading will be nice for contrast.
Then when I saw the TidyMom blog and went to TheDIYDish site and watched the video I saw that they also made a green one. That was a coincedence. I had forgotten they made one the same color. But now this has given me an idea to take it one step farther. I can't wait to do it this weekend.
Kim,
I cannot BELIEVE how creative you are! The stuff you make is amazing! My suggestion is to finish the green t-shirt scarf (!) and then wear it next Thursday for St. Patrick's Day, because as you very well know, EVERYONE in NYC is Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
