Do you have a favorite dessert? I have to say mine is a cookie. I know there a so many kinds, and now people are more and more inventive with them. Some are very easy to make if you know what should go with what, chemistry-wise. A cookie is something that you can change and rearrange and almost never screw up.
Then there are the more difficult ones, which taste great too. But I like to bake easy things.
There are cut outs, frosted ones, lace, bars, sandwich, ice box, pressed, and dropped cookies. I'm sure there are many more, but I know this is why I like them so much. There are so many varieties, and I love variety. I couldn't say which I like best, but there are a few that are on top of my list:
Mexican Wedding Cookies

or these
Sugar cookies with sugar sprinkles (nothing else on them) and really thin.

Kim,
The Mexican Wedding Cookies look like Lemon Coolers. You should try and make those because Lemon Coolers have been tragically discontinued in supermarkets everywhere. Why in the world would they stop making Lemon Coolers? They were my favorite cookies from childhood. Remember the white powder and the taste of LEMON? Mmm-mmm good.
